Apron Modeling

I know a lot of people out in 'Blog land' have a thing for vintage aprons, and for aprons in general, so I thought I'd share two I have the honor of possessing. Not that I ever remember to wear one, because if I'm being careful about not getting dirty while in the kitchen, I'm more apt to throw on my scary full-coverage dollar store one than to mussy up a pretty one!

This one came from 'Gran land' and made it into 'My land' this weekend. I found it in "the drawer" that was previously referenced in the last post, and she said I ought to take it home and give it some use.
It is black though, so I might be able to convince myself that it's wearable since it wouldn't show stains too badly!

This one I've had for a year or so. One weekend when mom and I were visiting Gran we all went to an estate sale one of her neighbor's was having down the street. We found this random box of vintage aprons shoved in a corner in the kitchen, and we ended up buying quite a few, but I believe the rest went to my sister.

I really love the pocket detail and the rick-rack.

One can never go wrong with rick-rack!

I have a couple of aprons that belonged to my great grandmother, one is thread-bare. They are really special to me.

hi there...thanks so much for visiting my blog! i absolutely adore vintage aprons too. and like you, i'm reluctant to wear them when i'm cooking because they do seem way too precious to have stained. i sort of want to wear them out. maybe layered over a skirt on with jeans? maybe that sounds crazy but i just think they're too pretty to hide in a drawer. i think you could get away with it with the black one especially! anyhow, nice to meet you....
